The British driver Mike Hawthorn, winner of the 1958 Grand Prix championship, wrote two children's books about racing: "Carlotti Joins the Team" and "Carlotti Takes the Wheel." The second was completed shortly before Hawthorn died in car accident while driving to London on a public road. He had retired from racing just months earlier.
