Life Magazine Visits Wolfgang von Trips
A reporter and photographer from Life magazine visited Wolfgang von Trips at his family castle outside Cologne on August 1, 1961. They came to prepare a profile of the young count in expectation that he would win the Grand Prix championship a month later at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. Von Trips crashed and died on the second lap of that race, and the profile never ran. But you can see a few of Life's photographs in their archive.
